WORKS UNDERWAY ON NEW COBBLEBANK STATION CAR PARK

Passengers in Melbourne’s growing outer west will find it easier to park, jump on a train and travel - when a new car park is built at Cobblebank Station.

Works are now underway to build the new car park at the station – with 80 new parking spaces. It will be built to the north of the existing car park and include two new accessible spaces and a dedicated V/Line staff parking bay.

Lighting and CCTV will also be installed to improve safety, as well as wayfinding signage and landscaping.

The project is being delivered by VicTrack with funding from the Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution Fund, administered by the Victorian Government’s Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).

Civil construction company Ace Infrastructure is delivering the car park on behalf of VicTrack, following a competitive tender process last year.

Construction of the new Cobblebank Station car park is scheduled for completion by late 2022.

Since 2014, almost 14,000 new and upgraded car parking spaces have been delivered at train stations across Victoria, and the Labor Government is on track to deliver an additional 7,000 new and upgraded spaces.
