The Allan Labor Government is delivering more green open spaces and nature play amenities for families across Melbourne’s western suburbs.
Member for Melton Steve McGhie today joined Melton City Council representatives to officially reopen the Black Knight Way Reserve in Kurunjang with upgrades now complete.
Delivered in partnership with local council, the Labor Government invested $300,000 to improve and build new features at the reserve – including a mix of nature play, swings, climbing, dry creek bed and a flying fox nestled in the park’s centre around mature gums.
New shelters, seating, picnic tables and BBQs provide perfect spaces for families and friends to gather and enjoy the outdoors.
As part of the Suburban Parks program, more than $10 million has been invested in the Parks Revitalisation Grants program to upgrade and revitalise 41 existing parks in 29 local council areas across Melbourne.
Black Knight Way Reserve is the final project of the 41 new and improved parks funded through the Parks Revitalisation Grants Program.
The Labor Government is delivering more than 6,500 hectares of new parks across Greater Melbourne, giving Victorians more opportunities to get outside and explore nature.
