The Allan Labor Government is serving free breakfasts at more schools to save families time and money.
Steve McGhie today announced the School Breakfast Clubs Program has now served 65 million free meals to students across the state, including local students at the brand new Kolorer College.
Free breakfasts mean families can save $256 per child each year, providing real cost of living help.
Research shows children find it harder to concentrate, self-regulate and learn when they’re hungry.
When Jess Wilson’s Liberals were in government, they axed Free Fruit Friday – leaving families worse-off.
Only Labor is committed to free breakfasts, lunches, snacks and take-home food packs for kids at public schools.
Over 290 more schools have now joined the School Breakfast Clubs Program, meaning families at more than 1,300 schools can save thanks to the Labor Government’s $162.3 million investment.
The program is available to all public schools wanting to join and on track for every school that opts in to be on-boarded by June this year.
The program forms part of a range of cost-of-living help measures delivered by the Allan Labor Government.
Families can also get support for school camps, sports and excursions, free public transport for kids, free vision screening and glasses, free dental checkups, free swimming lessons and free pads and tampons in public schools.
