Two grassroots sport and active recreation organisations in Melton are set to bolster their coaching skills, administration expertise, or score new sports equipment thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Melton today announced the successful applicants from Melton of the latest round of the Victorian Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.

The grants provide clubs up to $1,000 for new uniforms and equipment, up to $2,000 for training coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to improve club operational effectiveness.

Grant recipients in Melton include Melton Basketball Association who scored $1,900 and Specialist Hoops Basketball which is receiving $1000.

The Program is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to make community sport more accessible and inclusive, stimulate local economies, build sustainable sport and recreation and volunteer opportunities, and increase local participation.

Since 2015, the Sporting Club Grants Program has invested more than $15.5 million to support clubs and their volunteers across the state, in positive and trying times. For more information on the grants and a full list of recipients
