Accessibility for people with disability has been improved in the City of Melton following the completion of a port-able Changing Place facility, dubbed the Melton Marveloo.

Minister for Disability visited the Melton Operations Centre today to tour the new, portable Marveloo Changing Places facility which will be used for events across the City of Melton including Djerriwarrh Festival, Carols by Can-dlelight and FlavourFest.

The Marveloo is a ‘go anywhere’ facility, meaning it can be transported to support events or activities, regardless of their location, and is complemented by four permanent Changing Places located across Melton, including at Melton Waves and Leisure Centre, Melton Library and Learning Hub, Cobblebank Stadium, and the Caroline Spring Leisure Centre.

The Labor Government has delivered 139 Changing Places facilities - the largest network in Australia – accessible to 382,000 Victorians with high support needs and their families and carers.

Changing Places are larger than standard accessible toilets with extra features such as a tracking hoist and addi-tional space for two or more carers to support a person with high support needs to use a bathroom safely and with dignity.

In June 2023, Melton City Council received a Changing Places funding grant of $180,000 from the Labor Government to build the portable Marveloo.
