LABOR IS BACKING LOCAL SPORTING CLUBS  

The Allan Labor Government is making local sports more affordable for everyone to play from Basketball to Soccer.  

Member for Melton Steve McGhie today announced the opening of the Sporting Club Grants Program for the Melton electorate to get more Victorians active with their local clubs. 

The Program helps clubs create more opportunities for players, coaches, volunteers and officials to get involved. 

Grants of up to $5,000 are available through the Sporting Club Grants Program for clubs to improve the skills of volunteers, coaches and officials. 

New uniforms and equipment are also available with grants of up to $1,000 to help more players get involved. 

To help teams participate in competitions across the state $750 travel grants are also available. 

The Program is backed by Labor’s Regional Community Sport Development Fund and has injected more than $21 million into the community and supported thousands of clubs across the state. 

Labor is making it easier for Victorians to get active, this is at risk from Jess Wilson’s One Nation – Liberal Coalition’s $40 billion cuts plan, which will cut funding to community sports from Melton to Berwick. 

Jess Wilson and One Nation will leave your family poorer with fewer opportunities.
