The Allan Labor Government is investing millions across the state to upgrade and build new local sports facilities.
Member for Melton Steve McGhie announced that applications are now open for the 2024/25 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
Through the 2024/25 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund, metropolitan councils can apply for funds towards a range of community sports infrastructure and active recreation projects including sports courts, lights, change rooms, playgrounds, skate parks, to benefit local clubs and communities.
The fund has three funding streams including community facilities, community sports lighting, and planning.
Previous projects in Melton to receive grants from the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund in Melton include the Bridge Road Recreation Reserve – Oval and Netball Court Construction and MacPherson Park Recreation Reserve Rugby / Gridiron Pavilion.
Since 2014 the Labor Government has invested more than $2.3 billion to deliver world class community sport infrastructure that boosts participation and improves accessibility for more Victorians.
